Currency News [December 30, 2024]

The Cedi has come under renewed pressure at this week’s opening as it failed to add to its recent weekly gains after weeks of posting strong performances with the Cedi seen to be on an impressive recovery path. Despite the Cedi’s seeming recovery, it looked set to end the year in the red following intense pressures on the local unit earlier in the year.

On the Bank of Ghana (BoG) inter-bank trading platform, the Cedi fell across the board against the Dollar, the Pound, and the Euro to trim parts of its recent gains.

The Cedi repeated a similar sluggish performance on the Open Forex Market (oanda.com) where it nursed losses against the Dollar, the Pound, and the Euro.
